Alone

Al is in California for a long weekend at his sister's wedding. I'm home packing, cleaning and having some fun too. The rain has been keeping me inside most of the time but I'm looking forward to getting out to work in the yard. We're getting closer to making a decision on when we're moving.

Dead tree

This tree was essentially dead and in the way of the the farmer bringing his equipment up our driveway. He also removed 2 other big trees in the middle of fields.

Wonderful Power

Today I used a power washer for the first time and was that thing ever nifty! We cleaned 23 dirty rubbermaid bins and covers plus 12 plastic crates in no time flat. The dirt literally disappeared. However, I'm a little mystified about how it worked on the car. It's still covered with dust like I never cleaned it. I can't figure that one out! Now we're ready to start packing. How exciting is that!

Union College alumni weekend

Progress

We are working hard to get our house in orde to move. I've gone thru books, drawers, cabinets, etc. getting rid of everything I never use. Today I'm thawing our upright freezer and we're trying to use up food stuffs.

Al is working outside doing things I didn't know had to be done. We still haven't heard back from any moving people. I think they just want us to accept whatever charge they decide to ask for. We want estimates.

Scandalous

Why is it that every time I go to the P. O. to mail something I feel like they're trying to get all the money out of me possible? They always start with the highest method of sending then try to add things like confirmation, etc. I never care when the package arrives and want bone bare cost. It's always enough!

Happy Camera

My new digital camera wasn't working right the last couple days and I couldn't fix it but today I took it to a camera store and got the solution. It was a simple matter of pushing the button that switches from using the viewfinder to the screen. I'm so happy I can use it again.

Interesting Sabbath

We brought the pastor's daughter and another teen home with us after church because the pastor planned on going somewhere after his second service and Karrie wanted to stay at our church for Sabbath School. Both teens were planning on going to youth night at the Spanish church. When the pastor and his wife came to pick her up they found out another guy was included and they hadn't planned on taking Karrie to her doings. So there was quite a discussion amongst them as to what was going to take place. Karrie "won."

Happy Friday the 13th

I always liked this day. In fact Wendy was born on Friday the 13th so it is a good day. It's just 3 months till her 28th birthday.

I tried posting a photo and after 15 min. decided it was taking too long. So, I guess Wendi will have to do it for me if I get pictures to her.

Next challenge

I've struggled with trying to change and upload photos long enough. Help!
Hope this day turns out to be a good Friday.

I wanted to share a photo of my poor parakeet Chiquita who suffered while I was in Nebraska. When I got back she had lost many feathers and her forehead was almost bald. She looked like the cats had gotten her. She's improved some since then. Al has no clue as to what happened to her. I think the woodburner overheated her cage area and she was stressed to the max. With my tender loving care, she's beginning to look a little better.

Another Issue

I spent yesterday and today on and off programing our new phone/answering machine. I had to wade through a 61-page booklet to do that. It was a headache! On to happier activities!

Now if Wendy can tell me how to put photos on my blog life will really be great!

Frustration

I'd really like to blog but I don't get it! I'm typing this on a tag that says "Edit Html"--not on the compose screen. Why? What does that mean? This technology is driving me crazy.
