Jenkins Photos

The first picture is of Al calling Bindy (Marc & Debra's dog) but was taken to show what they are doing in their front yard making a patio. Next is Ellie and baby Dennis. Then Marc, Debra, Dennis and Bindy. Dennis by himself. Lastly, Grandpa Bud, Dennis and Chester.

This is our newly painted house. It's so bright and cheery, I think I'll stay. We've ordered a new front door but that won't come for another 3 weeks. The caulking still needs to be done on the inside of the windows too.

I took the sunset picture tonight across the street from us. As you can see, smoke makes the trees look hazy. We're hoping for some relief from that. Sunday we're heading for Yosemite.

FIRES

There are 800 separate fires burning in California right now. The closest one to us is about 35 miles away. We have lots of smoke in the air and visibility is very foggy. We aren't in any immediate danger from fire but the smoke is causing allergy symptoms. The one near Napa is causing the problem here because the smoke is channeled up the valley. It's supposed to be out by tomorrow.

Just Think

What would the world be like if everyone obeyed the 10 commandments? I think it would be like heaven on earth. Wouldn't everyone enjoy living in that kind of environment? Maybe not, so for those of us who want that kind of life, we'll just have to wait for the real thing.

House Painting

We are in the process of having our siding painted. It's a husband-wife team doing it. First the walls were power washed, then windows covered with plastic and masked. The old color was tan with pink undertones. The new color is called Arizona tan and it's lighter with yellow undertones. It looks so much better already. It will get 2 coats. Then Al can put the trim up which will be painted white. Stay tuned for the finished product.

Amazing Website

Someone forwarded this website to me and it's wonderful. I've always wished there was a place to go to find a Bible text if I only knew a few words from it. This site has an audio Bible, many translations and in many languages--an excellent reference site. Check it out!

New Windows

This is cousin Henri and Al getting ready to install our new front window. All of them are now in and Al is working on the caulking and then replacing the trim on the outside. That will be a summer long project. I'll have to clean all the glue off from the labels, etc. Another tedious job.
