The harvesting of early grapes has begun and truck loads are carrying them away. We can now start smelling grapes as we walk past vineyards. This process will go on for at least the next month until all are harvested. They tell us that the whole valley will eventually smell like fermented grapes and it stinks. That's what alcohols does--it stinks!

The grapes look gorgeous! A friend of mine grows a few grapes and picked a few Saturday after lunch. It was a wonderful dessert!
